Christmas Dinner Party      Rotary President Kevin Young recounts the events that took place at the Williams Rotary Christmas party held Dec. 16.

Hello: I Just wanted to drop everyone a quick line about what we encountered last night at the Rotary Christmas Party!

First of all, I thought it was truly the very best Rotary Christmas Party that I have ever experienced! We couldn't have asked for better Hosts than Bill & Sierra Miller.

What a great job they did and what an awesome home they have. The hospitality was Five Star and the home was decorated like a NY Macy's front walk display!

It was absolutely incredible. Then we all got a chance to meet Clay and Andrea's new little girl. She was simply precious. (Happy Birthday again Clay) Then, as everyone started arriving, the smells and sights of the pot luck items got everyone's attention fast.  Wow. There was enough food to feed an Army...

So with the 26 people that were able to make the party, a good size dent was quickly put into the fixings and the desserts. (Not to mention the Tasty Beverages)

After dinner we moved onto the gift exchange. Talk about FUN. Well, it was so much more than that. It was great to see everybody relaxed, laughing and smiling.

Bob Dean helped add to the smiles by reciting a special poem. (If you haven't heard it... you need to ask Bob to please share it with you. It was great!)

Then at the end of the party, I shared with everyone a situation Ann Johnson had relayed to me earlier in the day. She had stopped by to let me know that she wouldn't be able to attend the party because of the possibility of forecasted bad weather. She mentioned that she had a lady member of her congregation that was having frustrating difficulties because she was unable to pay her utilities or even to buy Christmas gifts for her children.

So we discovered the spirit of the Holidays and passed the hat.  With a little less people than we started with, we were able to raise some gifts for the mom and her kids along with $190.00 in cash!  Can you believe it? Talk about giving!
