Members of the Williams Rotary Club donate dictionaries to Williams Elementary-Middle School students who took part in this year's elementary and middle school spelling bees. The dictionaries were donated as part of Rotary International’s Dictionary Project.
Williams Rotary Club Scholarships
Over the years, the Williams Rotary Club has made it possible for dozens of students to pursue education after high school through annual scholarships. Local Rotarians have raised thousands of dollars through various fund raising projects to continue this very worthy tradition and it remains one of our Club’s primary goals each year. We are proud to help assist young people in our community to attain their goals and aspirations.
To be eligible for a Rotary Scholarship, you must be a High School Senior from the Williams community who plans to further your education at a university, community college or vocational/trade school and submit the items listed below:
To be eligible for a Rotary Scholarship, you must be a High School Senior from the Williams community who plans to further your education at a university, community college or vocational/trade school and submit the items listed below:
- 1. Completed Williams Rotary Scholarship application.
- 2. A personal letter addressed to the Williams Rotary Club Scholarship Committee. Keep in mind that the committee bases 90% of the applicant’s score on the contents of the letter and how you meet the scholarship criteria listed below:
• Why are you a worthy recipient of the scholarship?
• Academic record - grade point average, any awards, recognitions, etc.,
• School service and extra-curricular activities - list positions of leadership and responsibilities,
• Community service - what major problem or opportunity did you address in our community and what did you do about it?
• Job experience – did you work during your high school career and what experiences did you gain while working?
• Career and educational goals - what are you planning on doing after you graduate from high school, what college do you hope to attend and what is your current choice of a major?
• Involvement with Rotary – such as RYLA, special events, volunteer activities. - 3. A copy of your high school transcript.

In our busy day to day lives we sometimes get caught not always seeing the good that others around us have done that has affected our community.
In 2011, Williams Rotary membership has pledged to acknowledge those who Standout and Make a Difference in our community.
We will look inside at our City Employees, Police Department, Volunteer Fire Department, Highway Patrol, Sheriff’s Department as well as our Outstanding Citizens.
